Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when women were not permited to join service organizations. Our name, loosely trnaslated from Latin, means best for women. Today, we have about 30,000 members and supporters in countries across North America, Latin America, Africa and the Pacific Rim.
We are in the Founder Region in one of five federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
Soroptimist International of Napa was chartered over 83 years ago and is still improving the lives of women and girls in our community!
