Mariposa “S” club at Vintage High receives $500 grant from Soroptimist
The Mariposa “S” club at Vintage High received at $500 grant to fund their philanthropic endeavors from Soroptimist International of Napa at Soroptimist’s regular meeting at Embassy Suites. Four of the girls were on hand to give the Napa club a preview of the talk on anti-vaping they want to give to junior high girls when they were surprised with the check. Making the presentation were Ruth Zamora, Melissa Cortez, Amy Segura, and Isabela Hernandez. Kelly Kearns is the Soroptimist Coordinator and Johana Navarro the Mariposa coordinator at Vintage High.
An “S” club is Soroptimist club for High Schools girls with a Coordinator from the school and Soroptimists who work with and sponsor their program. This is the first year for the Mariposa “S” club in Napa.
Soroptimist is Investing in Dreams of women and girls… it is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
Soroptimist International of Napa meets the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday for lunch at Embassy Suites and the 4th Tuesday of the month in the evenings at various locations.
