Women at their best, working to help other women to be their best
Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when women were not permitted to join service organizations. Our name, loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women. Today, we have over 25,000 members and supporters in countries across North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. We are one of five federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
Soroptimist International of Napa was chartered June 10, 1939, sponsored by the Soroptimist Club of Sonoma. and incorporated September 23, 1955.
Soroptimist International of Napa meets the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month at noon for lunch at Embassy Suites on California Boulevard in Napa. The fourth Tuesday of the month members and their guests gather in the evening for a social meeting at various locations. Monthly, members participate in hands-on service projects in our community in addition to the Soroptimist Dream programs that we facilitate.
